How to use this

General information, not legal advice. Check with an employment lawyer in your province.

Give the new hire real work in week one. Check in at 30, 60 and 90 days.

Send the plan before day one, so they know what's coming. Assign a buddy who isn't their manager. Adjust the timing to your codebase and the person's level.

Ontario also has paperwork you owe in the first 30 days. You must give each new employee the ESA poster within 30 days (ESA s. 2(7)). If you have 25 or more employees, you also owe written job info before day one (ESA guide). You must also give certain policies within 30 days (ESA ss. 21.1.2(3), 41.1.1(4)). Section 0 of the plan lists it all.
